Yesterday, we lost Paul Ruebens to cancer. While he wasn’t the best person in real life, his character and imagination bought millions of people joy including yours truly. Pee Wee’s Playhouse was truly a piece of art on screen. He was an idol to me with his characters and creations. Pee Wee Herman is one of the best characters ever. Being the creative “weird” one I connected with the character, and the world Ruebens created. I to this day make all my furniture talk, and I like to think the food in my fridge is ice skating when the door is closed. Thank you, Paul Ruebens. I will always love you. I hope you now rest in peace in the playhouse in the sky! Here’s some fanart, one I even I did today!

I Made My Chair
I picked up a clay kit called Carnival of animals for me and the kiddo. You make a wooden skeleton of a bunny and it comes with three clays. Two out of the three clays were totally dried out, I found it at a discount outlet store. There was my mistake there. The big bag of mint green clay survived. I told my kid he had to make something before it dried out and he wanted to save it. I explained, “you can’t, let’s make a kitty” So we’re playing with it and it dawned on me… it’s Chairry green, Chairry was Pee Wee Herman’s chair in Pee Wee’s Playhouse. I quickly molded the box that the clays came in and covered it with the clay. It dried fast! I cut up a popsicle stick for the legs. I let her dry and used model paint to do her eyes, teeth and legs.

And now she is done. I placed her with my Pee Wee Herman doll and Pterri. I think it’s a perfect match! Now I need to make the rest of playhouse!
