Piece 01
Kitty Bureau
A Statton bureau was abandoned by the previous owner of my home. It sat in the basement for 3 years. It was beat! I refurbished it, and then painting the family cats on it with gouache.

Piece 02
No More Ikea
About 4 years ago, my husband and I went for a big shopping trip to Ikea. I could not convince him that we would be better off in an antique store, and at the time he didn’t like old furniture. Thanks to Ikea, my point was proven. I spent a grand on their garbage furniture. The entertainment unit only lasted 2 years. Then both Billy bookcases went a few months ago. They collapsed. The last to go was the Kalla. The large bookcase/record shelf that I had my record and cd collection on it. I was heartbroken. I moved it to the kitchen and tried to keep light stuff on it, but it collapsed again a week later. Since I spent about 300 DOLLARS on this, I wasn’t going to go without a fight! I spent two weeks rebuilding, redesigning this piece. It has antique steel brackets and is a tank now. I based it off mid-century furniture. The only regret I have is I have to repaint this summer with an oil-based primer paint, do not use vinyl-based paint on Ikea!
