I was commissioned to do a velvet Elvis. After going through 3 months of artistic torture, and a few really expensive velvet pairs of pants I had, I was able to send it off. My own child wrote a story in class, called “maybe mommy will finish Elvis tonight.” I believe I went through 76 Elvis attempts. I felt destroyed and I had to prove the King and I that I can make an awesome Elvis. In a matter of 40 minutes, I had this Elvis, and now he hangs in my living room. I did pick up some more velvet for another idea, but I don’t know if I can do it. This Elvis is a 8×10 acrylic. Artist: Rach Featherston, 2024.
