I Had Covid

On April 2nd, I was diagnosed with covid. I forgot to bring my mask to a school meeting. I never forgot one, and I was running late. 3 days later, my back went out. 5 days in, a cold started. 6 days later, I thought I had the flu so I went to an urgent care clinic. I ALWAYS get sick on Sundays. Covid, I cried. I had covid in December of 2019, before anyone knew what was going around. 3 weeks of a horrible cold, and then I couldn’t walk up a hill for months after. Memory problems since. I have been super careful and fully vaxxed. Even so, it hit me like a fright train. I was prescribed Plaxlovid which I thought I was going to die the first night of covid, so it did wonders. When I finished it, I got super sick with GI issues. It landed me in the hospital for day and I told my husband that I think at this point I needed an exorcism. The whole experience last for 20 days. 20 days of covid! Another 3 weeks. Inspired by my delusional request for an exorcism, I drew Regan on my Plaxlovid insert. Pen, watercolor maker, watercolor pencil and ink by Rach Featherston, 2023.
